The Structure sofa, part of the homonymous collection of upholstery designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo, which includes sofas of various sizes, chaise longues and an armchair, wins in 2015 the edition of the Henry van de Velde Label, selected from 206 products and exhibited in January 2016 at the Bozar, the Palazzo delle Belle Arti in Brussels and the main cultural center of the country, together with the other 19 finalist projects.

Established in 2006, the Henry van de Velde Label is awarded annually by Design Flanders, a prestigious institution that promotes and awards during Design September the most innovative projects made by Belgian designers. The awarding of the Henry van de Velde Label is further confirmation of the interest in Bonaldo style by international markets and design enthusiasts.

"Structure Sofa was born from the idea of playing with the structure of a classic sofa, of 'opening it' to reveal its softer interior and of creating a dynamic movement between the seat and the backrest"..

These are the words of Alain Gilles, and it is precisely the structure that defines the logic of the products, in which the metal core is sometimeshighlighted, sometimes it is partially hidden, thus giving the sofa or armchair an absolutely informal appearance. The Structure collection is made with painted metal legs available in anthracite grey, white, dove, black or green, colors that can be chosen in contrast to the upholstery, which is made of leather or fabric, generating an unexpected aesthetic effect.
